Hi,

I have just purchased a  low mileage J reg Ford Transit Autosleeper Frisky. Some years ago I met someone with an early Mk3 Transit  and they had found a smiley face grill that had been designed to fit the older Transit to make it look like a later model. Does any body know where these can be purchased?

Hi Billy, thanks for your reply. I hear what you are saying but the guy I was talking to had a 'D' plate mark 3 (one of the first I believe). He had bought this smiley front as an accessory, it was made to fit the earlier shape headlights. Although the headlight design gave away the true age the surround & grill were a perfect fit. I am going to put a personal number plate on my Transit, so the age issue wont be so apparent.

Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, welcome to UK Camp Site. Can't help on the smiley grill but I used to have a Frisky (G Plate) so thought I should say hello.

We loved our Frisky but it had 2 major problems for us:

1) There just wasn't enough room for all of us to sleep in comfort

2) There was no heating so no use in the colder months without leccy hook up.

That apart it was as you say a cracking little camper, town streets & car parks a doddle compared to the incredible bulk we've got now.

Hi Ken, I am not exactly what u shaped bracket you mean and I know these vans really well. I have owned 3 in the past.

Can you be a little more precise please and I will try and help you.

Thanks, Dave
