Hi,

What power output would you recommend when buying an Aux battery for my 94 Valentine Holdsworth, bearing in mind, I have to place it in the engine next to the car battery?  I see the Amp varies slightly with increased price. What would the best output be? I don’t have any electrical add-ons, just the basics.

Many thanks.

My friend i used to have a Valentine, and the leisure battery was fitted as you mention next to the main battery, i take it that someone along the way has  removed it and never replaced it???  In any case an 85 amp should  cover all your needs ie. interior lights and pump, and should see you through a long weekend with no problems at all.17

wineciccio,

Thanks! Yes, when I purchased the van it had a dead battery in it, which was German, and my German isn't brilliant.17

So, a 12v 85 AMP leisure battery should suffice? Do you think the cheaper ones on Ebay are any good? They offer a warranty and seem a lot cheaper than a dealer (no offense meant if you're a dealer), but I am trying to cut the pennies.

No my friend I'M not a dealer, just someone who has been doing this since 1974.  And yes you can buy one off ebay no probs, a chap who lives just round the corner from me (well is a friend now) he actually bought one off ebay and he is very pleased with it.17 Yes an 85 is more than plenty
