hi ive just bourght my first vw T25 camper,  ive had tents and caravans in the past but wanted something different, the problem is its a nightmare to drive going up gears is fine but coming down from 3rd gear to 2nd is a real problem it just doesnt go in, its making approaching roundabouts hell, any advice would be great or if anyone knows how much it costs for a gear replacement including fitting,

Hi, I had a T25 (still regret selling it), rather than being a gearbox problem, it might be the gearchange mechanism itself, (a common fault), an obvious sign is a very 'sloppy' gear lever when in neutral. You can buy all the bits to repair it from Just Kampers quite cheap and even if your not mechanically minded yourself, it's an easy job for a local garage so shouldn't cost too much.

If you need a new gearbox, have a look round the 'Club 80-90' website or 'Brickwerks' for a reasonable priced replacement.
