We always wave, most of the time we get a wave back, I think it makes the journey more enjoyable. My OH usually ends up waving at BT vans by mistake, the drivers usually give him rather confused smile
We have just had 2 weeks away and only got waved at once, and that was a French driver! We have a van conversion so I don't think most motorhome drivers realise we are a motorhome until it is too late! My husband loves it when someone waves so please watch out for us!
At first hubby wouldnt wave, when i eventually got him too, no one waved back so he refuses to do it again now lol, but im not gonna be misserable i will carry on as i started so if anyone in the North East sees us in our swift waving franticly you know who it is lol
Lallymc, my husband was exactly the same when we got our first van - he couldn't see the point and said he felt silly, then he got the hump because he didn't get waved back at.
We've had a caravan now for over 3 years and I'd forgotten about waving - although I've nearly done it to people towing when I haven't been!
Now I've got a van again, I'll have to try to remember to wave but, at the moment, I'm concentrating too hard on driving the thing.
I was talking to a chap on a car park in north wales last week about this very subject. He said that he used to wave to other MH drivers but decided not to because when on site everyone just keeps to themself and won't even acknowledge you most of the time.
Not sure that I agree with him about that but my OH talks to anyone and everyone and people don't really get much choice about it lol!
