Sorry I thought this forum was an open forum and everyone was allowed to read all the sections.  Its funny how you are giving an alternative view but someone who disagrees is 'pulling other peoples choices and preferences down????? '

As I did say some options are better for some people but not for others.

Brian

I have been away at the NEC Motorhome and Caravan show for a few days and so have not been around to answer your post.

The point I was trying to make is not that you aren't "allowed" to contribute or read all sections of this forum, as let's face it you are as enitled to do that as we all are - but merely to question why you would have any interest in reading it?  I was simply curious as to why someone who appears to hold quite a negative view of we folks who own campervans and motorhomes and who openly airs his dislikes would bother to read this section at all - but if you find it interesting then so be it!

I'm glad you appreciate that my posts have only been submitted to give an "alternative view" as this is and always was exactly my intention. I would never assume that my choice is the ONLY choice and it baffles me why some people have a problem with others thinking differently to them?  There is no way ever I would dream of critisising or condeming anyone who had a different view or preferred a different lifestyle or vehicle to myself and I respect that what suits me will not suit everyone and vice versa.  You wont EVER see me scoffing at or having a go at caravanners, tents or caravans in any of my posts as in my opinion that is absolutely ridiculous and I just don't understand why there is so much them and us mentality between some posters! Yes by all means give your reason for why what you have suits you but why preach to someone about why their preference is NOT anywhere near as sensible as yours????? 17 As far as I am concerned we are all just ordinary people out to enjoy our lives to the full and whatever mode of 'camping' methods we use is purely down to our own personal preferences!  We do NOT have to justify or explain ourselves to anyone else and as long as we are not breaking any laws and are happy  - then what anyone else thinks is basically unimportant!  However, when someone comes along posting remarks that are constantly critical or judgemental of others or their choices, then that's what I don't like to see and whenever this happens, that's when I feel compelled to speak out and say my piece! 17

I am not, against motorhomes ( I have even commented that I may get one myself one day ), I have always made the point that there are alternatives which may suit some people.  I have never preached or said anyones choice isn't sensible.  I have never condemned anyone for their opinion.  I am not sure why you felt compelled to write at length (over 400 words) on the subject..

I have said that peoples lifestyles will influence their choice, and that is just my opinion.  I have not criticised anyone for their preference.

Brian

I will write in as many words as I choose to Brian, I do not have to get your consent, acceptance or approval beforehand and you as the reader have the choice to either read it or not!

In my opinion from reading your many posts in this thread, you have been critical of peoples choices and preferences and have gone as far as to suggest that many of us who own motorhomes go around breaking the law and leaving mess around etc. You have critisised us for daring to visit beauty spots in our mh's and basically I get the impression that you would like to see most of us banned from the roads, villages, coastal resorts and towns altogether! What you have to bear in mind brian is that they are motorhomes - they are vehicles that are designed purposely to be homes on the move and this is why we buy them! We want to have all our onboard home from home luxuries with us on the move - if we didn't want or prefer this facility we would probably buy a caravan as they are by and large a heck of a lot cheaper than a luxury modern motorhome! We pay our road taxes and insurances etc like anybody else and as such, we are therefore entitled to travel wherever we are legally permitted to travel! You have no right to tell us what we should do or where we should go and providing we are NOT breaking the law, or causing any problems for anyone then in all honesty that is all that should really concern you!

Personally, I think no matter what you say in your defence, you DO have a bit of a problem with we motorhomers and I am NOT the only member to think this way! In fact two or three have emailed me exclaiming this very point of view.

I find it pretty sad that you spend your time counting my words, reading up about local planning laws etc as I am sure you really must have better things to do than this and as much as you may find my writing 400 words on the subject rather puzzling, I must say I feel the same way regarding you feeling compelled to actually count them!

Right, got loads to do so must dash or else I will meet myself coming back!

Sooh

I don't know about how others do it but the only way I could get Word Count to work is if I went to the trouble of Copying and then Pasting a letter from here into a Word Program and then running Word Count there.

I just wonder why anyone one would be bothered, or do we have a drowning man clutching at straws!!! 17

I just hope the originator of this topic has not given up all hope of a future life of happiness in their pursuit of happy caravanning and hung themselves by their EHU Cable! 17

Flipping heck..................counting words, no way am flabbergasted, Brian sorry I have to say if it has come to that well in the words of the song 'we have come to the end of the road'. If and when you ever do see the light.................a whole new road will be waiting for you out there.
