Hi all.

I have an electrolux 212a fridge...

eastham maxol BG21 hob and oven...

and a carver heater...(will possibly be changing this)

The fridge is butane or propane but I dont know about the other two.

I have a very lightweight gas bottle that is made from fibreglass, 10kg and wonder if I'ts possible for me to use this instead of the heavier butane bottles.

also would I use the regulator that I currently have with it to run these 3 appliances?

cheers.

just getting ideas before I start...

Hi brewyn.i would imagine butane or propane would work on all 3 appliances no problem, and providing the regulator is the correct one for your bottle there should'nt be a problem even if you used all 3 at the same time.Try it out at home first though before you set out for the horizon and it might be an idea to have them serviced just to be on the safe side.

All your gas apliances will work on either butane or propane equally well, however only propane will work in all weathers so if you intend to camp most of the yr you need to use propane. Butane will not atomise in cold temperatures.

What make is your fibreglass bottle? if it is BP Gaslite then you can exchange it for full in the UK(&other Euro countries but not France)& it is propane so it will do the job all yr. If the gas bottle is from another European country you cannot get refills in the UK, so you would need to change to Calor.

The only gas bottle exchangable thruout Europe is Campingaz, small, expensive & butane so summer use only.

The regulator you have with your bottle will run all your appliances.

Hi dreadnought and artjackson.

Thanks for the replies, It Is the BP bottle, I had a contract with homebase for my refillable calor gas but they stopped selling It due to a legal dispute with calor. homebase persuaded me to convert to propane and use these light weight bottles, originally it was for the barbecue, then I used it on my campingaz stove, and now I wish to use it for my conversion. I will be using the van on a daily basis so I'm pleased that the propane will work out in my favour.

Thank you for your help, I'ts one less thing on my mind, but no doubt you will see a fair bit of me throughout this conversion asking one question or another.

cheers
