Hi I am new to this here motorhoming and dont speak German but thats what our LMC manual is in, (lovely motorhome while it all works) does anyone know where we might obtain an English translation of the manual?

Thank you, it is as I thought and we have all the tech stuff but in German and as you say the Fridge, Toilet and Fat base vehicle is already in English. What kind of confuses me is the electrics, 12volt, 240 volt and charging.

I am unfamiliar with any motorhome electrics, I do know that there is a leisure battery and that is charged by the engines alternator or when you are hooked up to 240 volt it gets charged from the hook up, does it do this automaticly without having to switch anything?

My wife and I bought the motorhome in September and have only used it once for a few days at Bidiford and everything seemed to work fine. We love it and look forward to doing much more this coming year.

Don't know the specific van but they are all much the same as far as equipment goes. Ours is a German import and I got the Hymer manual in English sent as a pdf file via Brownhills at Preston, so you might be able to do the same from an LMC sipplier.

Having said that, the content is all fairly self evident and as with any company blurb it's full of safety warnings (don't put your hand on a lit burner etc.), but I did find out where the drain valve for the water system is and a few other useful bits.

You'll find this place is as good a database as any.

To my knowledge,of the three MHs that we've had(Autosleeper/Compass/Chausson),none have charged the leisure battery from alternator,only from hook-up.Similarly the vehicle battery has only been charged from the alternator and not from the hook-up!..

(On the first two vans we were able to select which battery to "drawn" from though).

Obviously, vans will vary(some may have split chargers fitted),so it would be worth contacting a "knowledgable" LMC dealer to check..(..it may be worth sending an email over to the main office in Germany,quoting the exact model/serial number).

I must apologies for an error in my previous post though...

I've only just found out that our "new to us " Chausson DOES in fact charge the leisure battery from alternator...Oops!

..it didn't say anything about that in the handbook that I've been issued tho'(..that's my defence and I'm stickin' to it.. )
