Are we being taken for a ride, i mean WE as all of us that are already motorhome owners and the ones that are aspiring to be, the press and numerous magazines affiliated with the trade in general, want us to beleive how well and rosy the trade is doing!, but alas, today i visited three dealerships in Preston and i was shocked as to the lack of new vehicles and old ones come to that, now the dealership in question has always been a busy and thriving one, also the lack of would be clients enters the formula here as well, there was none to be seen, i was there for about an hour and half and the only people i saw were people going to the camping store which is at the same premises, the other dealership and all indoor showroom was almost empty, well they had a few vans on show, and again no people coming in. The third one, well its more of the same, although they sell two wheel vehicles if you get the drift,so what is going on, a friend of mine down south is actually in the trade did admit that he may have to declare himself bankrupt if things don't improve soon!!! What do you think. Thanks

Thanks for the replies, but i think (it is my opinion and mine only) that the prices they are asking for them is astronomical, how can a small vw.trident go up by as much £3.500 in less then a year? And who regulates these prices, dealers can and do please themselves, this is more apparent when attending a show. Smoke in your eyes? I say it is, there is a big car dealership not far from where i live, and my wife's niece works there, now at the front ie, by the main road they always show at least 15 cars with the sold notice on, BUT according to my wife's niece that is only a carrot, last week they managed to shift only 4 cars, and i think its the same with motorhome industry, hyke the price and hope for the best? You can buy a little commercial vw. van and have it converted professionally with all the gismos and gadgets and still have change from i think less then £30k It just probably means that i may have to break the rule and keep mine i always change after 3 years, no mot or repairs to worry about.
