I have heard that you can exchange your Tesco Vouchers for Ferry Tickets from Dover to Calais. Does anyone know if this possible and if so, can you assist me please.

Not directly you can't. You can use them on Eurotunnel at 4 X times face value, check out the travel section of the rewards webpage. You could convert your Club Card points to Air Miles and get a ferry crossing that way but I expect it would be no where near as good value.

I think this use to be the case with P & O, but I believe they have now terminated this arrangement.
Go on Eurotunnel website & find out cost of crossing you want. For example, if it is £120 you will need £30 worth of Tesco vouchers. Go on Tesco.com, clic Clubcard & create an account. you can then exchange you vouchers online for rewards tokens at 4xface value, ie £30=£120. Your reward tokens & instructions on how to complete your booking will come in the post in a few days.
You then ring Eurotunnel, make your booking & send your tokens to them recorded delivery. This must be done at least 2wks before travel. If you don't have enough Tesco vouchers you can pay partly by credit/debit card.
Thanks Tentz that was very helpful. I have never travelled on Eurotunnel so I think we will give it a go. Have you ever travelled on the Eurotunnel?
Love Dollyannie
Eurotunnel is in my view the easiest and fastest way to cross the channel but all you do is sit in your vehicle. toilets are available but nothing else.
Yes, its ok, much easier & quicker than ferry, you arrive at the self checkin & either put your reference no. in or it will read your numberplate & then you just follow the signs. You might get stopped to have gas bottles checked, then you just follow the signs & wait for the next train.
If everything is running ok & you hit it right, you might get on't train with little delay. Once you arrive you drive off train & onto the motorway without stopping. It is possible to drive off M20 in't UK & drive onto A16 in France in about an hour.
At peak times, ie mornings in holiday times you can get long queues for the checkin & for the train & it could take over 2hrs to get across. Best time to book is afternoons or better still late evening/midnight when all is quiet. Cheapest time to cross is around midnight/v early morning.
If you arrive an hour or 2 early for your booking they will put you on next available train if it ain't too busy.
Thanks. We usually travel late on the ferries as this is the cheapest time. Only difference is, we just drive off at Calais and head for the sleeping area and get our heads down as we are too tired then to travel. Is there somewhere to get some sleep when leaving Eurotunnel?
You will see a services on't left still within the tunnel complex as you drive out, you should find somewhere to park in there. If not, there is a motorway services 5mins away towards Boulogne.
Be careful about stopping on a motorway service point for the night - they are the places you are most likely to get broken into!
We used the parking at Cite Europe, just a few km from the French Eurotunnel exit. There is designated parking for motorhomes and its not far frm the local police station. We've used it a few times and have never had a problem.
If you have dogs you have to pay for them on top of your Tesco vouchers as you can't use Tesco vouchers for them unfortunately (£30 a dog return).
We used tunnel for the first time last year book it for about 2am arrived early and got on no problem. Once you come off the train there is a big shopping centre just next to exit and it has a motorhome car park we slept there with about 20 other mh's got up and had a breakfast in one of the cafe in shopping centre. When we arrived at the car park it had a small chain over entrance but other motorhomer told us you just unclip it and then clip it back on no problem.
Once again, thanks to everyone for all your tips. We never stay at Motorway stopovers as they get bad press. As we are travelling down from Oban, we will be quite tired so need a good sleep with not too much interruptions. We will probably return on the ferry when it gets time to head home. We will be in France for about 6 - 7 weeks in Spring and Autumn.
