Didn't get a wave this weekend looks like the hire brigade must have been out in force.
I'm with you on this one Freya, ours is 10 years old now but it is paid for. I sometimes think that some owners demeanour could be affected by the worry of repayments or fear of damage or depreciation of new models.
After all they are not cheap and there is a lot of satisfaction in keeping an older one pristine.
A new one may be twice as good as an old one but an old one is 100 times better than none at all
we have a C class i think lol fiat ducato auto roller & i love the old wave thing i breaks up my journeys spotting the other motorhomes lol but there are sum snooty sods out there u wave & they just pretend they havnt seen u! boring sods lol its all the daft fun friendly part of motorhoming
My OH drives and I wave, its my job!!! I dont care if they do not wave back, their loss. I think I am also now getting abit of an anorak, as I can now identify what type of motorhome and even what sort of layout it is, by the window positions, well I suppose it makes the journey go quicker. I used to drive my OH mad but now he joins in. We very rarely see other Rollerteam motorhomes on the road but if we do they get an extra energy wave or even a double handed wave lol!
Look at my profile photo and if you see us, please give us a wave, I will definately wave back.
Hi I don't get this waving thing I have a M/H and get the waves and return them but if this is some kind of social circle how come only the odd few actually strike up conversation when you arrive on pitch.
I have had this conversations with fellow owners and the feedback I have had that they all felt the same strange.
I just assume that other M/H drivers don't realize my little high-top Doblo is a campervan, or they've all been the grumpy kind. But I'll keep trying....I'm sure someone will wave back one of these days.
We wave at anything that looks like it could be a motorhome. It's the fact that the occupants are motorhomers that matter to us, not what size/type/colour of vehicle they are driving.
------------- Why live for tomorrow, when you can live for today and tomorrow is yet to come?
We use to have a coachbuild van but have now got a panel van convertion, and we dont get as many waves, I presume people dont realise till we've almost past them and seen us wave and the windows in the side that they cotton on, but we'll keep waving anyway as I think its fun, Im like Sandra and can usually tell on the motorway what sort of van it is by the decals and shape, maybe its a girl think as my husband thinks im nuts shouting out the different types of van, but it help to pass the time.

I agree, we have done the opposite, van conversion to coach built and get waves all the time, especially in France. We even had a French motorhome driver gesture to us to slow down as we were approaching a speed camera, we were very impressed!
