I really wanted to hire a campervan for a summer road trip down to North Italy for the week, however the websites I have found have generally been a little confusing, and the prices seem high! I was just wondering if anyone had done this before and how much I should be looking at paying etc?
Before we bought our motorhome last year we hired a few different layouts to see which one would be suitable for our needs, we hired from http://www.baymotorhomes.co.uk/ I know they do have motorhome homes available around the country, as they also run an agency hire business where customers hire their motorhomes out through this company. All prices and information are on this website. They are really helpful and a good company to hire from.
Hi, we were looking at hiring for the summer holiday 9 day trip to France but the prices were so high, obviously as it is the peak time. I think the lowest I got it down to was around £1500 but that was because we had to hire it for 2 weeks as we going are for 9 days. It was about £700 per week, which I thought was loads and some of them wanted a really high deposit. The motorhomes were really nice though, but I think I would have been telling the kids to sit still and not touch anything, incase I lost the deposit lol!
Needless to say we put the money to buy a big motorhome of our own and are going to France in the holidays, the ferry crossing was only £100 for 5 of us and a 8 metre motorhome.
If you think that £700 a week is expensive for a weeks hire in a motorhome, then try hiring one that floats lol, the average price of a newish 6 berth River Cruiser on the Norfolk Broads for a week is well above £1000, and that is without the cost of fuel or damage waiver liability insurance, in high season they can go up to around £1500 for a top of the range spec 2010 model, and after all, they are only floating motor caravans all the same!

Well theres a suprise, who'ed have thought a competition like that would be a means of harvesting email adresses of people who might want to hire/buy a motorhome? Expect plenty more, although there should be a way to unsubscribe. You will probabley be unsubscribed from the competition as well tho.
