Hi I am not sure if it apples to your model, but I know there were recalls on Dometic fridges (we had one for the old caravan which would have been about 3/4 years ago) there is some discussion on the following link to be honest I would contact Dometic, esp for safety reasons.

Thanks for the above responses, I've looked at various websites and none of them that I've found, actually give a reason of what could be wrong.

I've checked the level of the van and it's very nearly perfect.

I have just had the same problem knowing about electric`s and gas i checked all the possible reasons why this £1100 fridge freezer wouldnt work.

Gas Jets ok nice blue flame , electric element getting warm again ok.

Looking closely at the coolant pipes i noticed a brown resin like substance on one of the joints,

Basically the coolant liquid has escaped which is made up of three components to make the gas unlike a domestic fridge it cannot be recharged its scrap.

I paid a Dometic fridge engineer £250 to rip the back off the fridge and change the coolant element  better than paying for a new one, it works fine now as good as new and he fitted a small fan to cool the system down in hot weather for free Job took one hour. The elements are very hard to pull off the back it was totally scrap bent to hell so worth him doing it for £60 labour.

The van being level is not an issue, we have used the fridge very successful on inclines, they say level so that the falme does burs straight up and not to the side, doing this there is a very slight chance that it could catch fire, but as the pilot light is protected by a metal shield then not really an issue. Its the manufacturer protecting themselves
