I own a 2006 Trigano Tribute Camper Van, owned since new, we have been pleased with the vehicle having covered 40000 miles, so not underused. The only disappointment is the wear of the upholstery almost thread bear in places. Is this fair wear for four years of use? (warrentary only covered upholstery for twelve months) I sent an email to the UK distrbutors for this vehicle 4 weeks ago asking if there was a chance of obtaining replacements and a price, but no reply, I will keep on trying. The other option is to find a reasonably priced upholsterers, has anybody got any suggestions/recommendations?

40k miles in 4 years - that's not bad going. My 'Wayfarer' has only done 40k in 11 years (though until retirement, work limited its use).

Anyway, the upholstery is in top condition - though a bit 'dated' and slightly faded in places, so I'm really surprized that yours has worn so badly.

I would agree that finding an upholsterer is the best idea. In my case, it's the foam that needs replaced - the fabric is fine. When DD lived in Ilkeston, there was a caravan upholsterer nearby who had an overnight parking spot with hook-up, for customers. I had planned to use his services, but DD changed job and moved, so I'm not often down that way.

Tockfield are the experts at this, they have a site within their workshop yard in a nice rural area of Derbyshire where you can stay whilst the job is carried out, they also have several displays of fabrics/curtains/flooring designs to choose from in their showrooms.

Expect to pay around £500 for a full recover job, maybe a little more if you need new fillings.

They are within easy reach of the A38 Alfreton turn off on the M1, (Junction 28?)

I know a company that does a good job at a reasonable cost, but they are well over 200 miles from you!

Hi,

Good luck with trying to get any response from Trigano, I have been waiting for a replacement table for14months, I have sent over 100 emails and 9 months ago they sent a replacement table, completely the wrong colour, size and shape, I was then promised to received right table last week in May, guess what, still waiting! I could have crawled on my knees to trigano factory and came back via Africa and it would have been quicker!!!! I personally would not go down that route if you value your sanity.

On your other subject we have used Tockfield and they were brilliant and if you are in the Caravan club you get 20% off, they have a fantastic range and could not be anymore helpful.

Good luck Sandra.

Hi,

I have also used regal on my van and was extremely pleased with the job. We arrived the night before and chose our fabric then camped overnight on their carpark. ( its an industrial estate but they have an electric hook up and tap and lock you in behind a fairly secure gate so we were quite secure). They then got started at 730 next day and we were away, job done by about 4pm. They even replaced the curtains and knocked us up some cushions in the same fabric.

Nice service and nice people.

John
