hiya it's sounds to me like a waste water tank problem too, get down under the van to find a stop tap, may be at rear or to one side, look for a ridged (normally black) waste pipe. If the tap is closed open it & drain it down, you can get shop bought tank cleaner or use something like milton or sweet smelling disinfectant, close the tap pour a couple of buckets of clean water that has cleaner in it down both sinks, go for a drive so it swills about then re drain, you may have to do this several times

I have the autostratus, and the tank started to smell,I flushed it through the overflow connection which I removed so not to damage any sink drain pipes or connections, there was a large ammount of terrible black sludge came out, smelt rearly horrid,so have a hose near by to wash it away, but since doing it last year it started to leak,I have had a stainless one fitted now.

We ahd a terribel smell a few years ago which was coming from the sink in the bathroom. Cured it by puttin a mixture of washing soda and liquid biological clothes washing detergent down.  Then put hot water down and drove around before emptying.  Resigned to do this occasionally, buta as often happens, the routine gradually stopped.  However, we've had no more problems.  We stopped using soap for hand washing and use a liquid hand wash now as soap traps the dirt and the fat in it clings to the inside of pipes and the tank.

Now you've reminded me I will put my mixture down the sinks before we set off next time.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.

The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.

Good point there Rainbowsend about hand wash,we also use it and facial wash, another point is that tooth paste will set like concrete over a period of time if left,it settles on the bottom of the tank.its the abrasives that set, they include calcium phosphates, alumina, calcium carbonate, and silica.I thik its mainly calcium cabonate that sets in the bottom.

Just a thought, but if after cleaning your system, the van still smells. try flushing out the screen washer bottle. I had that sewery smell in a Renault Master. (not a motorhome).  Every time I cleaned the screen, I got this terrible smell. Someone had topped up from a waterbutt & it had gone stagnant. Maybe unlikely, but another avenue to go down.

We bought an Autoquest 320 1994 in excellent condition 2 years ago. However, we noticed an unpleasant smell a few weeks ago, but it was in the toilet area. Turned out to be a worn valve in the Thetford toilet. Bought a new valve (£10) and smell has gone!
