Hi, This is a minefield question, and I would suggest that you ring around as many as you can because so many things affect the quotes you will get.
Some suggestions:
Safeguard
Comfort
Caravan Guard
NFU
SAGA
You may also want to investigate your options regarding breakdown cover as some include it with the insurance which sounds OK but is linked direct to the vehicle so if you have a second vehicle you may want to consider separate breakdown cover that is linked to you and therefore covers your second or third vehicle, ADAC comes to mind as a possible solution I'm sure there are others.
Hi we also use frank pickles have done for 3 years cost £220 this year and added alps breakdown at £65 had to use breakdown in france 2 years ago for little thing and they where great so no complaints
If you are a member of the AA or the RAC don't imagine for one moment that you are covered for Motorhome breakdowns.
I found out that I had to be a member of the C&CC to enable the breakdown thing with RAC. I believe that a similar situation prevails with the AA and the CC
For breakdown cover try ADAC Phone them up and when they answer, ask for an English speaking operator. Most of my pals have now gone over to them - especially the ones who travel in Euroland a lot
Thanks Sandram for the suggestion of Frank Pickles - we have just bought a new MH, new to us anyway!!, and was quoted £382 from the CC, and Frank Pickles have quoted £245, so will give them a call in the morning.
I used to use the C & C Club for Breakdown as they go through the RAC & will then recover over 18 foot, if you go direct to the AA or RAC they only recover up to 18 foot.
I went with Saga this year [ who are part of the AA group ]for insur & had fully comp with full Europe Breakdown for £220, breakdown is with the AA who will recover over 18 foot with a Saga policy.
They seem to make their own rules, I actually also have breakdown & recovery cover with Britania which covers any vehicle myself & wife drive or are passengers, recovers over 18 foot, covers my daughter & son in their cars for £90 a year but with discount through Unison. Very good value.
