I have recently purchased a 1992 (J Reg) Romahome Hylo. It has leisure battery and hook up. It seems that the leisure battery is no longer accepting a charge. The markings on the Mercedes Benz battery are 12V 66AH 300A. As I need to obtain a replacement I have no idea if this is the correct or most suitable battery  and wonder if anyone can advise please what type is recommended or type that I should obtain as there is no detail in the handbook. Also, any idea of cheapest outlet for these. Thanks in advance.

Hi the most important thing is size, I just got one and it was a bit of a struggle. Mine fits under the drivers seat and all I had was 20cm in height to play with.

I got a 85AH from Towsure for £51 in the end. So I would suggest measuring the battery and see what size to have to play with.

A leisure battery is just that , make is not important, as long as it works. As for power you can stay at 66AH or go to 85AH , depending on what size you can fit. Alpha batteries or Car Batteries direct had good prices when I was looking recently, cant say how good they are.

Thanks for your advice. I have measured and ordered an 85AH from carbatteries direct at £52.99 incl. next day delivery so all I hope is that it arrives in time as I am going on my travels on Friday and don't want to be totally reliant on electric hook ups . Thanks again.

Glad to be of help, depending on what you run off it, a 85AH should last a fair while.
