Hi ,as a regular on the dover to calais route due to middle son going to boarding school ,i have found that when booking the ferry, if i request to pay for crossing in Euro's it costs us a lot less than in pounds even with the exchange on a uk bank card ,not too sure why, also if you fib a little and say you were previously quoted a cheaper price that whats on offer they generally give the cheaper price , also its worth knowing that there is a 2 hour window either way with no charge too early or too late doesnt matter . hope this assists any of you thats heading france way this summer
