Congratulations and I hope you have many happy hours in it. I for one do not find your enthusiasm boring at all, it just reminds me how I felt when we picked up our new motorhome

Unless you've already got one,I'd recommend looking at getting a simple tarp/canopy to start with..

We slept in ours' when we had our first one....

..and if you're anything like us,it won't belong before you've got an array of driveway awnings,daytents and pop-up shelters,clogging up the spare bedroom(..we ended up with more "stuff" than when we were tenting!  )

My advice would be to try and hold off on buying anything along those lines,until you've "discovered" just how you're going to be using the van.(..we sold our driveaway awning,without it ever being used..it just wasn't worth putting up for a couple night stay..)

If we had a campervan now I'd probably be getting a decent daytent of sorts or possibly one of the Quechua Base tents,to go with it...
