Will it stand the weight of the bike + carrier? Will it get in the way of doors/windows?

I reckon your other half is crackers go on the dave cooper site to see scooter carriers . I have carrieda 125 formula race bike on the back of mine for thousands of miles never a problem, go for it .

Hope this helps in your decision .

Please let us all know which way you decide.

I have one for my Autoquest 120 (had to have the chassis strengthened) but my wife doesn't want to use a scooter - feels safer on a bike.  So, I have a very cheap scooter rack going if you are interested!  And a Piaggio Zip!

With the scooter on the rack, the vehicle feels OK so it should be OK on yours.

We had a Easy-lifter motor bike rack fitted at the beginning of this year. This fits onto a tow bar, fits in minutes (opted for this type as I did not want to always carry bike around)Although this may alter the cost, better to have it right from the start.
After calculating weight of rack, nose of vehicle, over hang on back of vehicle, distance between wheels, etc, you can determine what bike load you can carry.
I bought a bike from scooter central (125 retro)rides well and well within weight of 200kg load for our motor home.
Be aware of the rake and its loading capacity.
This has changed and improved our enjoyment, not to mention the cost, parking etc.
sales at scootercentral.co.uk and easylifter at live.co.uk
Hope this helps
