I'm in despair at the moment, went out to the campervan this morning to find that someone has been in and turned it over inside.
Lost all my best stuff.
Some folk say that we shouln't leave things in the van, but if you take it out then put it back again it attracts attention.
Police have been lovely and a CSI officer is coming to take a look later.
Has this happened to other folk on here? And if so did you keep the van because just now I'm feeling that I'll never use it again.

There but for the grace of God go all of us    You must feel gutted, I know I would, do you leave the van in the street or on your drive way?  although I dont think that would make much difference if the low life want to get in. Did you have a good alarm system fitted although yet again that does not stop a smash in and grab quickly what can be found.

My only opinion would be to take out everything that would be useful, money wise,to the thief its a bind but its the only way to be sure of keeping your gear. You may now feel this could happen again, and thats a thought to keep worrying you. Perhaps paying to keep the van in secure lock up premises might be the way. One thing is for sure though is if you give in to this horrible event the scum will have won. There is no easy answere. Sorry .

I am sorry to hear this, nothing is sacred nowadays. I was broken into when we were parked outside a Police Station??? in the South of France about mid day. Alarm sounding as well. I always suspected it was the Police.
As for home mine has always been ok, I did have a Pikey come round last week asking if I wanted to sell my van & another after scrap earlier.
This has happened before, just makes my wife nervous when I working nights.
Trouble is the Low life may be caught, they will be given a gentle talking to so as to not upset them [ their human rights ] then let off to do it all again.

Thanks for the empathy
This is the second time in two weeks that I've had to call the police because of vehicle crime. The other occasion was when a young oaf in a stolen car rammed the back of my driving school car during a lesson.
They already have that guy, but there's not much chance I'll be allowed to hang him up by his thumbs for a couple of days

Our first camper van was stolen off our drive 2 years ago which was horrible. We now have another one and have put a security post in the middle of our drive and alarmed it and have a big yello steering wheel disc lock. Only the alarm would have prevented what happened to you. We do take most things in now aspecially at the end of the summer. Poor you.
