Bought the new Motordome Sleeper, its all in one construction has good and bad points - I can put it up on my own but it's a little tricky to lift the centre hub and pull out legs at the same time. The second stage leaves the tent on folded legs 'camel style' and it's can very easily get mud trapped in the joint when you go on to straighten the legs fully. Those joints can become stuck and difficult to unlock when dismantling.
Once it's up you can manoeuvre it to fit on to the van easily enough (or move the van nearer!) - the figure of 8 rail system is ok but hasn't been tested in a high wind. We managed to break a pole on the second outing, erecting it in very high wind, and the supplier informed me it's not covered by guranatee - they would have sent us a spare out of goodwill but they didn't have any. They directed us to Tentspares website, it looks as if that'll cost £20-30 to replace.
Like many, I've seen a campsite after a gale and Khyams are the only tents left standing so I'm hoping the motordome will prove durable. Being mostly all in one means the main bag is quite hefty to carry and store, if it's only me camping I don't bother to take it.
