Hi everyone.  I bought a new Rapido 7090+ at the NEC Show two years ago.  I wont name the company but oh how I wish I could.  I have won two county court judgements against them despite their barrister, solicitors and four adjournments.  What an ordeal for two simple straightforward breaches of contract (i.e. a £30 radio instead of the top of the range Pioneer specified in the Rapido brochure and a clip awning instead of the Zip awning ordered and paid for - and confirmed in writing).

My problem though concerns the alarm fitted at the time of purchase.  I have never quite got to grips with it and Phantom must repeat my phone number in their sleep because of the number of times they have to ring me.  However I now believe that it cant all be my fault.  Does anyone know a specialist alarm company who would check it out and refit it if necessary.  The instructions refer to the Alarm fob to set it in various ways but I dont have a separate alarm fob, just the vehicle fob which operates the alarm too.  I am happy to travel but I am in South Wales/Bristol area

Well i am afraid i can't help with your queries, but you must tell me ie. with a name like Enzo i take it you are italian? If so my friend you can make use of the BASEBALL BAT rule, get some friends and walk round to the dealer with them holding the bats, see what reaction you get, i did that with my three boys at a dealer in Bagshot, no names, he soon changed the tune and rectified all the faults with my  then brand new motorhome.

Sorry to disappoint but I am called Mary but the site wouldn't accept that as a user name so I have used the name of my Italian Spinone instead.  He is a big boy but a complete wuss so cant use him as a weapon.

I wouldnt trust the dealer concerned anywhere my vehicle.  Its a pity these liars, cheat and thieves cant be named to stop other unsuspecting people being cheated.  I stuck to my guns because I know the Sale of Goods Act inside out and knew I was right but their bullying tactics and intimidation was really difficult to deal with.  Their costs alone to fight the case was at least five times of the amount I claimed.

Anyway, thanks for your suggestion - I hope someone uses that approach with them someday.

But you can NAME AND SHAME THEM, there is no such a law in this country to stop you doing that, i have mentioned peoples names before (firms and shops), if you use ebay as much as i do  then you will know what i mean.

Hi,

Might I suggest Van Bitz in Taunton, Somerset.

Eddy Jones the proprietor might be able to help, he runs an alarm company.

are u referring to an alarm or tracker or combined alarm/tracker. as most modern vehicles have remote centraol locking the after market alarms used on modern cars dont use seperate key fobs they are programmed to arm and de-arm via the central locking, so sometimes to set the alarm correct u need to double press the lock buttons etc, best thing is do a search for automotive electricians on google as most deal in alarms and trackers

Thanks everyone - what a site.  Am now sorted.  I contacted  Sigma who recommended Auto Motive Control from Bristol.  Rang them on Wednesday afternoon at 5 and they were at my house at 8.30 the following morning.  Brilliant service.

And yes, it is a combined system that works from the vehicle key - I will have to keep the instructions with me at all times I think.  My brain doesn't want to retain even simple information these days!!

Thanks again to you all
