Can anyone explain in simple terms how much juice (in amp hours) an inverter 12v to 240v takes from your leisure battery ?
For example you have a laptop that at 240volts takes 100 watts. You plug it into the inverter connected to your 12v leisure battery and run it for an hour. How many amp hours from your 100 amp hour leisure battery has it taken ? Presumably one should add an amount (10% ?) for inverter inefficiency and voltage conversion costs.
If some one can work through this example and give me a simple formula or calculation process I would be grateful. Then we can all work out our individual appliances and see how long our leisure batteries will last when we use them.
Thanks in advance.
