The main problem with car parking spaces and a larger motorhome is not so much the length, but the width. Many parking spaces are barely wide enough for a car, never mind a motorhome.
My campervan is a SWB Transit van conversion which fits fine in a space - but I often end up getting in and out via the side sliding door 'cos there's not enough room to open the driver's or passenger doors - and a coachbuilt is generally wider than a van conversion.
Not a problem in a quiet car park, but can be a nuisance if it's busy and you have to go in between two other vehicles.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.

Another very important point(..which I do tend to go on about! ) is the payload.
Make sure it'll still be legal when you've got all your tack loaded up..
..a good many vans are running about very close to or over their GVW.
This is being discussed at length(..and in some depth!)over on the MMM forum(Out&About Live).

To Mick S. Very valid comment, but if you can't afford the high power stuff, I suppose you are st.ffed and what is the haste anyway, except if you have to race to get the best parking space - even if you are booked!
To Bordercaz - I manage3 to over come this - I have a rear exit!
To Pepe63 - The only weay out is to trail a light trailer
Thanks for all the replies - makes me feel welcome - I got a slow 1993 Fiat Elddis with 76,000 miles on the clock in the end at a price I could afford No rust or damp.I plan to go touring and just to take it easy.

Just do it!! life is too short to think about things for to long.
If you have the cash then go for it, life is for living and for worrying
