The only reason not to buy a standard household TV would is if you wanted to use it on a 12v power supply. If you will always have a mains connection you should not experience a problem.

we bought a normal 19 inch from morrisons a year ago and we drive around quite a lot  and the tv is as good as new and working well, we kep the polystyrene moulds and we put it in them when travelling stops all the bumps around in the overhead locker when traqvelling and we have done over 2000 miles since we bought it . we are on hook up all the time and even though we do have a 12 volt tv the screen is smaller so we watch the 19 inch one mostly we have a plug in dongle thing that we use to watch tv on th lap top and usually tape anything we want to keep or watch again on that.

My only reservation with a TV designed for home use is if it will stand up to the bumping and vibration that can occure in a driven vehicle. I would hope that the ones developed for the camping market would be manufactured to meet those challenges, although I dont know if they are. Good luck with it and enjoy it.

I purchased a 19" tv/dvd from asda a couple of years ago...removed the 240 transformer and fitted a cigarette type plug to fit in my camper van ..it sits on a swing out backet and has been used regularly giving no problem...my campervan is also my every day transport so the tv has put up with the bangs associated  with everyday town driving.....

Well I be blowed AC, we go there several times a year, I love the place, tho the forestry commision and the camping and caravaning club have become mega greedy by closing down the woodlands campsite and building new forest lodges that cost an arm and a leg to stay in, must be thousands of square miles of forest there and they had to close the most popular campsite to make even more money, I mself applied for site attendants job there this season, but when i found out from Lizzie who is in charge of recruitment that i would have to do team building courses, accounting courses, for a few days just to get a job cutting the grass and cleaning the bogs, i thought, nah cant be bothered.........
