Hi,
I'm planning to take our Burstner Travel Van to the Alps this month and would like some advice about using the Webasto Diesel (Dual Top) heater. We've only had the motorhome since July, so I'm fairly new to all this!
My plan is to leave the Webasto on a low 'heating only' setting during the day and turn it up to full power [heating and hot water] in the evenings. I presume the 'low setting' will keep the unit ticking, and prevent it dumping the 11 litres in the boiler when the temperature is below 6degC. Are the pipes and the water supply tank still likely to freeze? If it freezes, will it unfreeze if I turn it to 'heating and hot water' in the evening?
I've noticed that I get some hot water even if the Webasto is set for 'heating only'. Is this normal, and how much power does the Webasto consume? Is it likely to flatten my battery if I leave it on all day?
Any help would be most appreciated!
Regards
Richard.
