Hey Ladies and Gentlemen if your after insurance for a self build try motor caravanwise in Christchurch Dorset... they are really cheap for self builds ..
They where £300 cheaper than the next best quote, they do it all over the phone, you can pay all in one go or over 12 months if you like , you have to get a form stamped by the local garage to say it has a built in bed, wardrobe, cooker, seating area and water storage, which is easy enough if your self building,
Phone no is 01425 280078
I did use sure term but there quote for this year had gone thro the roof with out claiming for anything, there letter said do nothing we will will automatically renew it for you, take the hasle out.. lol i bet you will at nearly double last years price lol..
Any road you get gas bottle cover. contents cover, windscreen, and other things , just under £300 fully comp for a 1998 iveco 49-12 self build bus
hope this helps some folk and gets you a good deal
bestestest wishes
Billy

nice one billybun i'm seriously considering getting rid of my present m/h and doing a selfbuild to accommodate my quad, when you see what you can get for your money in an iveco van , newer ,less mileage, more reliable, and an internal space for security for the quad, def makes sense.

looks a nice job paul, how many does it sleep? i see in other posts that you like to wildcamp, as is my first choice when out, i find it very gratifying when i find the right spot, especially when your having your brekkie in the morning with a view to die for in front of you, much better than herding on a site.

hey paul ,you ever been to point clear in essex. i used to live on the sea wall there, facing brightlingsea across the river , mersea island across the estuary, fantastic sunsets over mersea island . there's a bit at the very end there , just beyond the haven camp , drive over the sea wall ramp , and you are on the hard, as its called, and you are ok to wildcamp on the left side of the hard rd , as its classed as the village green, no matter what anyone says, the council have no say ,as its a private estate there , and there are ancient rights of ways. dont know what the fishing is like there, but there's plenty of boats go out from there. best sunday dinner is at the kings arms in st osyth village, which you drive through to get to point clear, unfortunately ,no sandy beaches there, but you can get the ferry over to brighlingsea, theres an outdoor lido, and some decent fish shops, not the one opposite the ferry tho, thats rubbish, clactons not too far away for sandy beaches, park around martello bay if you can , new parking restrictions along the seafront now to deter m/h's. good travelling and good luck.
