I take mine to a local garage that MoT's larger vehicles and commercial vans.  For MoT you can take motorhomes to a standard garage but most dont have the clearance.  Phone them and ask .....

Good luck with her ... mine is in on Wednesday, my father's tomorrow ....

I believe that any Motorcaravan just needs a class 4 MOT, but not all garages will have the ability to test that size of vehicle. So, best take it to a light commercial garage that is used to testing vans of that size. Just make sure they know that it is a class 4 MOT.

[There was some doubt in the past as to whether a van needed a class 7 MOT. This came down to whether or not you carried goods not necessary for living in the van eg. vans with a 'garage' to accomodate a motorcycle. I don't think this is an issue now.]

Living as I do in a rural area, there are loads of garages that service Agricultural and goods vehicles, so having my van tested / serviced is no problem.

Try this company. I don't know how far away they are from where you live but they do motorhome servicing in south Wales. Unsure if they conduct M.O.T's. but you could give them a ring and find out.

My Avantgarde 400 had to have a class 7, just for the room needed to get it in the air.

For future ref, Some local Fire & Rescue areas do MOTs on private vehs, as do some local council garage workshops.  One good thing about them is the MOT will be fair, as they no interest in trying to 'squeeze' extra money for repairs etc from you.
