Had a step problem a couple of years ago and after searching for the warning bleeper it was in the relay box just above the mains supply unit at the input. The main step relay is in the wardrobe on our bus but it was fine.
It was ok but the step would not go out so after crawling underneath van noticed the stop switch was all corroded tried a few camper shops but none had one so ended up using a car alarm type plunger switch and insulated it well .
While away in France step got stuck out and only way to get it to go back in was to get someone to put foot pressure on the step from the outside while pressing the close switch and hey presto it went back in and has not given any trouble since.Hope this helps mate.
------------- Cheers
