Hi
Does anyone know if declaring the campervan as off road using the SORN declaration voids the insurance? Ours is off road at the moment and due to be taxed. Seems waste of money if we not using it at moment but don't want the insurance to not be valid?

I could be wrong but I wouldn't have thought so. Tbh if it's off the road completely I don't think you would need insurance at all, but it would be best to have at least third party, fire and theft in case - heaven forbid -  something should happen to it while it's parked up.

Agreed . Our insurance is cheap on the strenght its paid all year sorn ed or not

Have I not read that the rules ref SORN have/will change and need insurance cover no matter where or under what circumstances a vehicle is stored?

Sorry. I have now read the relevant rules properly. Either SORN a vehicle OR insure it. Where it is kept doesn't matter.

Thanks all. Our insurance say can be insured if SORN but insurance void if no MOT. We were trying to save a bit of money while OH out of work so we have valid MOT and insurance but will declare SORN until thing bit better
