We have a 1979 T25 called Vanessa, we need to sort the gas out (fridge and hob) as it was all done with flexible hose and its dangerous! I'm told it should be copper pipe is that right? Does anyone know anyone who can do it? We've had problems with Motorhome garages not wanting to touch it because its been botched before
It also needs the fridge to be properly ventilated, a new water pump and "plumbing" for an aqua roll etc to be kept outside (we have a small 5l container inside the van at the mo).
or any " gas safe " registered installer , who has the lpg
certification in his list of qualifications. not all have the lpg as its quite a major extra , but they usually list the bits they cover.
often your local lpg gas and spares supplier will be able to recommend a good local fitter.
Nobody in commercial buisness will do this except to rip it all out & install a proper interior with fridge & cooker installed in a unit. You cannot expect a company to make good somebodies' bodge at minimum cost.
If you have no diy skills then I would suggest you have it all removed, use a separate fridge & cook outside on a 2burner camping stove. Otherwise pay the price of a new interior. Ask on club80-90 They will put you right on a campervan interior installer in your area but it won't be cheap as it has to be done to regs.
Not what you wanted to hear unfortunately.
I would add that a properly installed cheap diy unit incorparating camping stove & portable fridge is not neccessarily dangerous, it just has to be done properly by somebody who knows what they are doing but it does really need to be done by the vans owner. You can't really pay somebody to do a diy installation.
