How about this one? The Rodeo Sprint. I have one for my mpv - smart looking, easy to put up, very stable in windy conditions, and very spacious inside. And actually looks like an awning and not a tent with widows, which is what most 'awnings' look like. The price from this website is very competitive too, they usually retail round about the £200 mark or just over. And very definitely worth getting.

.. focusing on the "..are they worth it.." portion of your question,well that'll depend on whether you actually end up "driving away" or not....

We had a Movelite Driveaway awning and after we bought it, we realised that we would never use it in anger,we sold it unsused.

Prior to buying that though,we just had(still have) a lightweight caravan porch awning(an Outdoor Revolution EasiPorch) and we find that if we're staying put for  3-4 days,it's pretty handy..

Having said that,ours' slips into the groove on our windout awning and tensions against that,so doesnt need to be "self-supporting"...

I had a kampapod driveaway for my Ace Capri (similar size) but found that the poles flexed so much in the wind that it kept fouling the door. Following advice on here I have since replaced it with a Khyam motordome XL. A bit pricey but dead easy to put up even in your own and it stands firm in anything except a hurricane.

They dont sell through the shops but I got a good deal off their website.

We've just bought a Fiat Ducato AutoRoller 5 Berth and want to get a driveaway awning, but dont have a clue!!  We are going to France in the summer so want a reasonable sized one.  Anyone recommend one please?

Once again it depends on what you'll be using it for (..and how much you want to spend )

There are the lightweight,almost "tent derived"(dome or tunnel),awnings which are popular.These do vary in how much of a faff they are to put up..as firruk say,the Kyham is deemed to be the easiest the put up..however,we found our Movelite was too much like strugglin' putting up a large tent(..and to me that defeated the point of getting a MH!)

..,And then there's the more "caravan awning" looking ones..these(I think!)tend to be better quailty,sturdier(heavier?).

Personally,unless it is to be used for,the kids to sleep in,I'd be considering a large day tent..versatile and far cheaper..

Many thanks for advice.  To be honest not sure if we are going to need it to sleep in, but would like something with ability to sleep 2-4 people just in case and we would like the extra room for kids to play etc.  The van does come with a fixed fiamma awning and side panels so may be worth looking at getting the front panel for that?  Thanks for the link, may be worth us looking at day tent, hadnt thought of that!

As you've already got most of it,it would certainly be worth checking out a front panel and any addditional poles etc,inorder to complete the set up(..I'd be checking out the free ads on here or ebay for secondhand items )

I know it wouldn't be "driveaway"..but it would an easy way of increasing your living area,until you were sure of how much a "driving away" you'll actual be doing...
