Trying to find out a little about the clutch on my Peugeot Boxer 2.2 HDI, (55 reg so not the latest X250 ?) With no Haynes manual available it seems difficult to get info on these units. I have determined at least that it is a hydraulic clutch, took a bit of convincing since there seemed to be no master cylinder then discovered it's incorporated into the pedal box, strange, maybe it's a sealed system as there is no apparent top up resovoir. I feel that the bite point is near the top of the pedal, although not right at the top so not worried about slippage, I know many modern units have self adjusting systems but wanted to find out if there is a specification and if there is any means of adjustment.
Now I know you're going to tell me to take it to my local Peugeot dealer but I'd rather not fork out for something like this if it is just adjustment and I'm more than capable of myself, if of course it really does need special tooling etc then fair enough. The engine has only done 14000 so the clutch should be fine for many more miles yet.
While I'm on the subject does anyone know of a maintenance manual similar to Haynes? I've found the "Russek" manuals online, does anyone know anything of them, not much info apart from a poor picture of the cover. I do have the trade autobooks but unfortunately this only covers cars not vans.
Meanwhile wihing everyne a happy Easter :)

Try ebay, they often have full Workshop Manuals on CD.

If your clutch is hydraulic it should not need adjusting.

Phil.

Thx Phil, from what I've heard those e-bay manuals are not worth the plastic they're burnt on... unless someone whats to tell me different ?
Having spoken to a friend of mine apparently these semi sealed hydraulic systems do tend to run near the top of the travel so all should be OK. I'm just old fasioned and like something where I can adjust a nut and bolt! (preferably imperial size too )
