I'm just wondering if anyone has any advcie about driving right hand drive motothomes in Europe.  We are new to motor home driving and are thinking of buying or hiring a motor home for a holiday in the UK and Europe.   Oh, and I should mention that we are from Australia.  For some strange reason motor homes are not very popular in Australia.  No idea why but its very rare to see a motor home on the roads here.  So, I'm just wondering if you all drive your right hand drive vehicles in Europe and if you think we would be OK doing it. 

Beverley, when I rode my motorbike across the length of France, I made a simple sticker for the inside of the windscreen. It showed, in perspective, the 2 edges of the road "disappearing into the distance and the dotted centre line of the road. A green arrow showed me to drive on the right. When you get tired and pull out from a garage etc it has been known for people to drive on the wrong side. Incidentally, do not drive when tired. Have a break. Do not be put off, the experience will be marvellous.

Some very good advice which we will take on board.  We thought a RHD would be OK for us but just wanted to hear from some experts with local knowledge.  We are planning a 12 month trip stating 3 Sept and beginning in the UK - until it gets too cold and then we will head to Europe and spend the winter in South Spain.  We are looking at hiring a motorhome from a company that hires out private motorhomes

Hi Vwalan - I was interested to see you mentioned Morocco -  we thought we'd be inSpain for about 3 months to avoid the winter and wanted to go to Morocco but didn't really think to take the motor home.  Is it OK to take a motorhome there?  i.e. is it safe and do they have plenty of caravan parks?  I will have to research it.

We can't wait to start our trip.  I hear you guys are having some great weather - save some for us in Sept !!!

If you are starting in Septempber and staying in the UK till it gets cold - you will not be long here!!! Its good if you like rain

Its no problem driving on the RHS, the main thing to watch out is when you park up for the night and then jump back in the vehicle, you will automaticlly want to go on the LHS.
