I am catching an Isle of Wight ferry next week early in the morning and will be arriving in Portsmouth around midnight, does anyone know if parking is allowed on Wightlinks ferry terminal, or does anyone know of a suitable place to park up not too far away from the terminal.

If you go to Southsea sea front, and go to the far end (away from the Funfair) you will be able to park on the road.

I arrived early (evening before) and went to ferry port; they let me on the next ferry.  At Cowes go to the west on sea front and you can park up there to catch up on the zzzzzzz's before carrying on.

I have been told that you can park up overnight in the shopping car parks on the main route to Southampton ferry terminals without any hassle as lorries also pull up there for the early morning ferries.

FYI I have a letter from the director of parking in Vectis Council telling me to park in the coach bays as my vehicle exceeds the bays in carparks! I got a ticket and challenged it ..... good luck
