Hi

Has anyone else found out about the new emissions legislation due out in the Greater London area starting January 2012?

Apparantly any van or bigger registered before 2002 is in trouble! Why do they not publicise these silly rules more clearly. What are they trying to do, drive us off the road?

Anyone else livid or got more info?

Livid with a capital L.I live 16 miles from Central London but 500 metres inside the zone.If i go out in my van and return home it will cost me £500 every time i re-enter the zone.An air filter to comply with the lez will cost about £2000 but will have to be tested every year without a guarantee it will pass the following year.If i lived in London i would recieve a 90% discount on the congestion charge so why not for the lez charges?I am waiting for the dreaded letter to hit the doormat! Not correct on the before date of 2002 as my van is a 2004 and it does not comply.

Just went on the Transport for London website and imput a motorhome registered AFTER January 2002 weighing between 2,5 and 3.5tonnes GVW and was informed that my vehicle would comply with the low emission zone requirements. Does this mean that 'neverenoughtime's vehicle is above this Gross Vehicle weight as you say it does not comply. Ps I've actually got a caravan but was interested in what all this lez stuff might mean for cars with the bigger engines and was assured that cars also comply. Hope I've got it right.

Does it effect diesel engines only or is it both?
