Bailey Caravans have been developed using over sixty years of experience in caravan design and are manufactured in a state-of-the-art production facility to provide the very best in touring home quality and value.
The company will now be bringing this same level of expertise to the Motorhome market with the introduction of a new range in October 2011
The first vehicles will be a range of coachbuilt motorhomes featuring the award winning Alu-Tech body shell construction system. This state of the art technology, conceived initially for the company's touring caravan ranges, is seen by many as the most significant development in leisure vehicle production technology for over thirty years.
Engineered to ensure it remains weatherproof and structurally sound the Alu-Tech bodyshell sets the standards in terms of durability. A new design interlocking external framework provides greater strength and rigidity as well as significantly reducing the number of external joints and fixing points thus minimising the potential for water ingress and improving the overall integrity of the protective shell.
At the same time timber free upper bodyshell panels, featuring a composite plastic internal skeleton also offer a second line of defence by limiting the impact any possible ingress may cause.
The body assembly incorporates thicker laminated panels which combine with additional supplementary insulation in traditional cold-spot areas to improve the thermal properties of the shell, keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer as well as making the vehicle more economical to own.
For more information of the design story behind the Alu-Tech construction system please visit the website
Over the past twelve months Bailey has been working on modifying the Alu-Tech system using the latest 3-D modelling computer software to specifically suit the needs of a motorhome. The resulting vehicles have then been subjected to a series of accelerated life and structural tests as well as being given a thorough examination in a climate control chamber at the internationally renowned Millbrook Proving Ground to ensure that every aspect of the new designs have been thoroughly evaluated.
An introductory Bailey Motorhome web site is now live and this will be updated with regular news and product information prior to the official public launch in October later this year.

Following feedback from its recent motorhome trade and media launch Bailey is pleased to announce the forthcoming addition of the Approach SE 745 model to its first motorhome range.
Based upon the popular Approach SE 740 layout, this model features a rear fixed double bed which is complemented by a large separate shower corner washroom and a well-designed L-shaped centre kitchen featuring a full size Dometic Series-8 refrigerator. The difference lies in the front seating arrangement where instead of parallel front bunks the 745 layout has an offside front facing bench seat supplied with two additional three-point seat belts as standard and a wall mounted dinette table.
Although this type of model can sleep up to four people, typically in most instances it is usually used a two-berth. The addition of the Approach SE 745 will however give people the option of this best-selling layout with two dedicated rear passenger seats allowing it to be used as genuine multi-berth vehicle. |
As with all models in the range this motorhome benefits from the safety benefits incorporated into the vehicle design following the crash simulation testing carried out by Bailey at the internationally renowned Millbrook Proving Ground.
The high-performance Alu-Tech bodyshell stood up well to this series of examinations and required very little in the way of modification. However, following the results of the initial trails, Bailey has made enhancements to the design of both the motorhome floor and furniture, as well as re-locating under locker lighting, to improve passenger protection. In addition the company has also taken the decision to include a dedicated stowage location for side mounted tables whilst in transit as this proved to be a significant hazard if left in situ in the event of an impact.
Key safety features, such as an ABS braking system plus driver and passenger airbags are also specified as standard in the cab in all models and four three-point seatbelts are fitted for the rear passengers in the six berth Approach SE 760 model.

Bailey add Approach SE 625 to Motorhome Range
In response to customer feedback from the Motorhome and Caravan Show in October Bailey has announced the forthcoming addition of the Approach SE 625 model to its motorhome range.
The two berth SE 625 was the most commonly asked for layout not featured in the original line-up at the public launch. Built on a 3,500kg chassis this model has an overall length of 6.51m (21'4") and an overall width of 2.42m (7'11") with a 1.96m (6'5") headroom.
The layout features a generous u-shaped rear lounge which can convert in to either two single or one large double bed at night. In the centre of the vehicle there is spacious washroom, featuring a fully lined separate shower cubicle, on the offside and a well-equipped kitchen boasting a Dometic 8-Series refrigerator, a new Spinflo anti-shock oven and a stainless steel 700 watt microwave on the nearside.
It is powered by the Peugeot 2.2 Hdi 130 bhp engine complete with a 6-speed manual gearbox and is built on the new Euro 5 base and will thus benefit from the resulting improvements in performance and reduction in vehicle emissions. This is complemented by the luxury lightweight AL-KO AMC chassis which, with its lower centre of gravity, provides a more balanced weight distribution that improves road holding and braking efficiency as well as allowing increases in user payloads.
All models come supplied with a 105Ah auxiliary battery to give greater independence away from a mains power source and a 100 litre fully insulated external fresh water tank for continuous supply in cold temperature conditions. The dual fuel Truma 'Combi' central heating system provides effective heating en-route or on site.
The motorhome interior feature Italian styled furniture in a rich 'walnut' wood veneer which combines with the luxurious Vivaldi soft furnishings, constructed using premium quality Belgian fabrics and fully sprung cushions, to make the habitation area both warm and inviting.
The SE 625 is the fifth model in the Approach range - the full line up of which is as follows:-
- Approach SE 620 - 2-berth low-line end-kitchen
- Approach SE 625 - 2-berth low-line end-lounge
- Approach SE 740 - 4-berth low-line end-bedroom (fixed double bed)
- Approach SE 745 - 4-berth low-line end-bedroom with designated rear passenger seats
- Approach SE 760 - 6- berth high-line end-lounge
Find out more
The Approach SE 625 will be unveiled for the first time at the Motorhome Caravan and Camping Show 2012, ExCel, London (Stand N160 Entrances N4 & N5) on 14th February. Display models will be arriving at Retailer Depots from End-March onwards
