Hi All,

A "self build" should meet the following criteria :- Has seats & a table. Sleeping accomodation (which may be made up from the seats), cooking facilities, & Storage facilities. All of these must be permanently fixed, apart from the table. If the vehicle is legally on the road & we deem it to be safe then it would be welcome on site. a "scruffy" looking van is only in the eye of the beholder, so once again, it would be welcome. Safety is the key here in my book.

That's pretty much how I see it..

..as I doubt very much that these rules that campsites have,are just plucked out of nowhere..they've probably been arrived at through previous experiences..and it is these that end up "spoiling" it for everyone else..

..Well,they say they allow dogs,so they shouldn't be a problem..

On the subject of the fan heater,not sure what their "ampage" is,as we did have our power trip out on one occassion(..but that was when we'd switched the heater and kettle on at the same time).Not really an issue,as the trips are on the socket posts.(..just something to check when setting up,rather than have it trip at 7:30 in the morning,when you go to make the morning brew..!  )

Check out Knight's chippy,on the walk into town,as the also serve "proper" cider..also check with the site as to which Indian takeaway they recommend,as the one they pointed us at,delivered to the site and it was lovely!
