Apart from securing the awning in the channel not alot you can do. Ensure the awning is fully in or tought/tight

try putting some pipe lagging around the straps that will shut it up a tad.

got the same awning i aways twist the straps that go over the van it works .

Not sure what awning you have...we have an outdoor revolution. Says it will reach the top of our van, which to be honest it will. However as the door to van is right behing the passenger door and above the cab we have a 'luton' the rain ( if we ever get any) runs down the slope and into the awning....so we changed and only put it on the flat roof of van. Now as regards the vibrating straps, we did have to put a couple of twists in the straps that are thrown over the roof and it certainly decreased the vibrations. Also, you can buy awning tie down kits, so maybe if the twizzles do not work on the straps....slack those off after using awning die downs...might work, it did for us.

Both (large and small) drive away awning were attached to our van using 50mm wide Hook & Loop. (Industrial Velcro).

The Loop was attached to the van using double sided carpet tape and was still in place after 4 years use.

The Hook was stitched onto the awning by a local sailmaker.

The Hook & Loop will give you a completely draught free (and noise free) join between the van and the awning.
