Hi
We are after a motorhome and have seen a 1991 Autohomes Bedouin Talbot Express for sale which is in our budget. It looks to be in pretty good condition and has fairly low mileage. The only downside is that it doesn't have power steering. Does anyone have one of these motorhomes and is the lack of power steering a problem?
Hi don't know about your power steering, but the van is 20 years old, go buy a damp meter before you part with any cash, don't take the sellers word that it's dry it maybe the best £10 you ever spend
We have a 1989 Autohomes Camelot Talbot Express which doesn't have power steering. Neither me nor the OH have any problems with it. It doesn't feel particulary "heavy" to drive. The only time I really notice that there isn't power steering is going round mini roundabouts, I just drive over them now. In the past I have driven a ford transit and a ford orion that didn't have power steering, they were very heavy compaired to the talbot.
The camelot is smaller than a bedouin so it may be worth asking on the talbot owners club(Talbotoc) website as there are a few Bedouin owners on there.
Whatever you end up with, I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time with it
