My parents are looking at purchasing their first motorhome and have seen a Ford Globecar that they quite like the look of? Anyone got one or any advice on one or anything else? It will only be for the two of them, used for touring Europe the only thing that they particularly want is a U shaped seating area at the rear.

Any advice appreciated.

It looks a bit small for a long trip. I would suggest that having a fixed bed is worth it. There's nothing worse than having to move everything because you need to sleep.

i was admiring this one last night -

i need a floor level fixed bed so we could leave it up during normal use. There is a motorhome show in cheshire this weekend that i am hoping to get to so i can have a proper comparison of the other options (Adria, Trigano, Vantage etc)

The Globescout looks good.   It has the same layout as our Adria which seems perfect for touring and quite comfortable for longer stays also.

A lot would depend on the UK pricing and spec.   The Ford based vans are not wide enough to allow a cross bed.

we we`re considering downsizing to a panel van conversion but couldnt cope with such a small space,make sure when your looking you get inside and close the sliding door because it all seems lovely and spacious when your outside looking in but when your inside with the door closed it can seem very tight.
