Considered to be new to this game, as we have been motorhome owners for just 3 years. I am not even sure that INSURANCE is an allowable discussion point on this forum? However here goes (will or will not get replies to this?)New motor home 3 years ago, and insured with company X. Traded in, in July this year for another brand new motorhome.Paid the extra at time of purchase on the remaining months of existing insurer, and that is about to run out. Aproached insurer Y for a quote and it is £175.00 LESS! For what appears to be almost identical cover except the excess charge, as far as I am able to see. Size ,weight, etc not a problem or any difference at all. Question. Are quotes automatic, are they negotiable ie. can you get certain parts of the cover offered removed? If you can tell us what service you have had from your insurer in the event of breakdowns, accident, or even just a flat tyre, we would be most pleased to hear from you. Just because we have been with someone for only 3 years, we are not sure we want to be ripped off, never having made a claim for anything etc. Await your responses and would be pleased to get any at all.
