Trying to find recommendations for rear bar/tow bar for a Ford Coachbuilt motorhome in the Devon/Somerset area.
PWS are at Poole but seems a long way to go.
If Armitage were south and not north I would go there!
Thank you

Thank you, I have looked at them, but not been to visit.
I would be interested to hear of anyone who has used their services and any comments they may have.
I have to go via Poole in the next few weeks so will call in at PWS in any event. They seem to have a good reputation on the web, but nearer to home would be more preferable.
We also have a Chausson, but on a Ford chassis

We concidered PWS but the distance was an issue for us.In the end we used Towtal at Stoke.

Prior to having it fitted I was concerned about the resulting ground clearance(because we have a steep driveway)and I was all for having a bumper with "cranked" ends, similar to the first few on here:

http://www.pwsacc.co.uk/motorcaravan-towbar.htm

..however they convinced me that a straight bar would be fine...it wasn't !..as it ended up bottoming out at the one end, when we pulled on our drive...

Another thing to watch out for is the standard of paint finish/coating that is used. Our Towtal bumper was showing signs of rust after just a few weeks(..a result of a "while-u-wait" approach I suppose). So if leaving the vehicle with them for an extra day or two, means you'll get a better, more thorough job, then I'd certainly opt for doing that...

Hope my ramblings are of some use...

Thank you for that thought. I must admit, I quite like the cranked ends, but for cosmetic reasons. I did not consider slopes.
I will let you know how we eventually get on.
