Hi I have a Jap Imported Toyota Hitop Campervan/Camping Car. Its a 4 berth convertion with two double rear seats that form a large double bed Or with a rear shelf and the back seat we can also have a double bed with loads of space at the front. I have a problem that I can not get sorted with the electrics nor it seems can Toyota UK. It is the Cigarette Lighter/Sart Nav Socket - Clock - Interior light circuit. It seems the fuse has blown and I just cant trace where the fuse box is located. I have searched everywhere. There is a fuse panel to the lower right of the steering column but these look like serious main engine fuses. There is also a fuse panel in the rear that serves the water Pump and interior rear lighting/campervan sort of lecky bits. I am desperate for help with this. Can someone steer me in the right direction. I have tried all the suggested places that have been posted on the internet as it seems that this is a problem for Hi Ace owners

I know this is probably obvious, and I don't want to try telling you something you probably already know, but have you taken it to an auto electrician?

I recently had a similar problem with my Granvia - no radio display, no clock, cigarette lighter not working, no heater/fan - and having no clue whatsoever about anything I took it to a local independant auto electrician recommended by a mechanic I know. He sourced the problem to a blown fuse connected to the electric mirrors and fixed it the same day.

One thing I did learn when I was with my ex and we had a TownAce, for any work that needed doing we found it better, and far cheaper, to use a garage owned and run by an Asian guy who does mot work on taxis, as TownAces, Hi-Aces etc are very popular with Asian people and taxi firms.

Great looking van btw  I hope you manage to sort your problem soon

Thanks Tigermouse (my family originate from your town in lancs)

I am getting problems with finding time to get it to a proper autolecky due to work and I guess I was hoping that someone would say "its just right there" and I would away to the van and change the fuse. But after weeks of trying to find it I guess that was hoping for too much.

Your advice is probably the best and the wisest. But being a Geordie I will always go the longway round :-))

Not much hope for you then, you sound like a lost cause! lol

Seriously though, you never know, someone on here might just have the answer.

Another one you've probably tried but it's worth mentioning it, have you asked on here? - http://www.estima-motoring.co.uk/Forum/index.php - scroll down and there's a technical section for mpv's that aren't Estimas or Lucidas

Hi all thanks. Is this the fuse panel you talk about:

This is the cover for the panel withdiagram

I have seen this panel before but these fuses look like none I have ever seen before are they common in Japaneses Imports or Toyotas in general

info on the supercustoms is thin on the ground here and the super custom forum is a wealth of info on them ... saved my bacon a few times when I had one... toyota will supply any part for your van if you supply them with the chassie no which is always handy ...though sometimes the prices are a joke...
