Different sites have different policies and pricing structures. Not all sites charge for awnings. Same with dogs, cars, extra people etc. Forget the individual elements of a price. Just focus on the bottom line. Is it an amount you are willing to pay? If not, try another one.
Yes but if if you are a camper you can't do without a tent, if you want 2 tents on a pitch you usually have to pay extra. But a campervan can do without an awning, otherwise pay extra. Why do we pay extra for dogs, why do we pay £3 for ehu when we only use £1s worth of electricity, etc et al?
As stated, just look at the bottom line, the price you are being charged for the pitch. If its too expensive then wild camp, you'll find somewhere.
i was riled when told my bus and awning had to use only the hardstanding and not venture on the grass when they had campers in tents ONLY on the grass....
next year with less rush we shall check sites feedback, etc (and compare charges) more than this year
july 9th - priddy folk (and ale) festival - thats us...lol
I know it's slightly off topic but I have similar thoughts when we go to some festivals...where more often than not,"tent camping" is included in the ticket price(..although this has started to change over the last couple of years) and some of the tents used nowadays cover a far bigger area than a standard size van(..some tents resembling something akin to Moon Base Alpa!.. )
However if you're in a campervan/MH there is usually an additional £30-40+ charge..80 odd quid for Glastonbury!..
(Just read this back and it sounds like a bit of a "gripe"...it wasn't meant to,it was just meant as an "observation".. )
