Hello, need some advice, from those that know,  i have the chance of a 1995 romahome, power steering and blow air heating.!!......now i have heard that these campers have a rust issue somewhere under the bonnet and it is a hard to spot area..?........can anyone comment on this please, that and the fact of £6, 500..which is the asking price, for the camper...is this a good buy.? ........appreciate your time ...thanks ..      Richard

My friend for £6.500 pounds i would (my choice) lay my hands on a decent VW, T4, there are loads out there , a decent one would be the 2.4 5 cylinders normally aspirated diesel ( that in lay mans terms its no turbo) i have had  2 of them and they have not cost any money other than consumables ie, service items. Adding that even the 2 litre  petrol is a damn good one as well, some of my friends down south still drive a autosleeper trident from new, i think its about 16 years old now, and Dave knows his carrots,ie. having worked for the AA for 36 years. But as they say its your money and your choice.

Don`t know much about these,but have seen a few on sites we have been to,some with rust issues,and some very nice clean ones,Have alook round and compair prices,there are some on Ebay,so this may give you some info on thier pricing.

if you were to give someone 6.5k for a romahome it would be like them winning the national lottery walk away from it, likw win says buy something nice for the money you have .

Richard, if you are referring to the Citroen C15 based Romahome, I have read that if the drain hose becomes blocked in the area in front of the windscreen, then water can overflow into a cavity within the front bulkhead. This, over time can cause corrosion which is both difficult to see and rectify. Fans of these vans advise to check and keep the drain hose clear. Hope this helps ! Take care
