hi everyone I`m fairly new to motorhomes and was wondering how do you manage to reach to clean the roof. Can you reach all over the roof from just standing on the back ladder surely you cannot stand on the roof.It may seem a daft question to you but I am new lol

I wouldn't stand on the roof of my car & when we eventually find a MH or campervan I'm not risking standing on that either - sounds risky !  17

Umm guys - I thought household detergents were a big no-no for caravans & vehicles 17  - don't they damage the paintwork too ?

Will certainly make a point of avoiding Stowmarket caravans if thats how they clean their vans!

I've seen plenty of other Dealers doing the same. In fairness to Stowmarket Caravans their staff doing the cleaning seem to stand quite well back when they're using a power washer. I say this from watching them on many occaissions when I've had work done by Stowmarket Caravans in their workshops.

It is usually not recommended to use a pressure washer because of the difference in makes of pressure washers and the skills of the person using it. My pressure washer is a professional unit that can be adjusted and after ten years plus of cleaning caravans and motorhomes I do know how to use my equipment (very gently). I have seen the results of pressure washer mis-use and it wasn't just a bit of damp, in one instance half of the graphics were blasted away. Another aspect of roof cleaning on motorhomes and caravans is that if the roof is not cleaned properly then it could lead up to damage from moss etc. So Bad Penny could be storing up problems.

Is there a particular nozzle to use when motorhome/car cleaning with a pressure washer? I've been told it's OK if you use this particular nozzle.

Hello all, I'm new on here.

I clean my roof twice a year using Fenwick's Motorhome Cleaner. I use a large stepladder and a long handled brush.

I use Fenwick's Bobby Dazzler in the final rinse.

No algae and no black stains.

Thanks for that Tinnie. I'll look out for those products and try that method.

How do you rinse it?

Hi Tinnie Good method you have there. If you want something a bit cheaper and esier to get hold of , try using Demon shine instead of Bobby Dazzler. It comes in ready diluted or concertrate. Use the concentrate its much cheaper and its much the same as Bobby dazzler

I always use my "A" ladder with the one side extended and use the long wash brush. Although the other day I got off the ladder onto the roof and cleaned all the hard to get at places (do not go onto the cab part) as the wash brush dose not get in there.
