Uses a litre in about 5hrs, much less on low setting. The noise is louder outside van than in & could be annoying to say, a tent camper pitched next to you. Very effective heater, probably best you can get.

Absolutely superb bit of kit and used to be fitted as a factory option in VW types 2,3 &4. I retro-fitted one to my camper in Canada and it kept me snug into well under -30.

When i get it i think i will test it first before i put it in.Its going into my pennine aztec f/c,I have got a gas heater but i am worryed incase my daughter goes near it.

The diesel one will be great if everything goes to plan.I was going to fit the main unit in the kitchen cupboard, now it depends on the sound might have to make a box and mount it under the trailer

I think if you fit one in a folding camper you might find the noise excessive. The main noise is from the exhaust. if you fit heater underneath the installation needs to be weatherproof with the exhaust routed to outside.

If you are on EHU you could use an electric heater. If you are relying just on a leisure battery for the Eber you will be lucky to get 2 nights out of it with continuous running.

We have one in our camper, very effective but the noise outside is very loud initially (someone likened it to a jet engine warming up - that sort of noise but not as loud as a jet engine obviously!). After about 5 or 10 minutes it's much quieter though.

I wouldn't have thought you'd run it continuously all night, so long as you have decent bedding you shouldn't really need it, but as stated you do need to be aware that the fan uses electric so an EHU / decent leisure battery would also be necessary.

I will be running for about 30mins every night and maybe in the morning for about 15mins this will be over a weekend,I always travel to different classic car shows so it is always weekends.

the only other thing i use from the battery is to start the gas fridge and interior light

Thankyou everyone for the posts,I am hoping to go back to work soon,When i get it i will try it before i fit

hi we have recently bought a 2nd hand webmaster diesel heater for our hymer motorhome & we have found it to be a great asset in the winter when going out for day trips in our van, as to use the truma heater in the van, we have to first fill the water tank  & if the temp drops below 5* it automatically empties as a precaution against freezing.we found this annoying when only going out for the day so we now just  take a large bottle of water for cups of tea etc, & have instant heat when needed ,so we are now using the m/v a lot more as it's so much easier.it is a little noisy  on start up but soon quietens down.the fan does use the leisure battery but not excessively & it uses very little diesel ,& if used abroad will slow down the use of calor gas if away for a long period good luck & hope this is helpful

I use my campervan as my daily driver. When it's very cold I sneak out in the morning 10 minutes before I'm due to leave and set the heater running, it's lovely and cosy by the time I leave!

I could even set it to come on at the same time every morning if only I could remember how....

Got the instructions out last night and set the heater to come on at 8.00, when we left at 8.15 it was lovely and toasty, even though it was -2.5 outside!

Hope you make a quick recovery, would any of your colleagues be able to salvage it for you if you give them a ring?
