Can anyone please tell me If I buy a new Motorhome from a dealer at a considerable distance from my home would I have to return the vehicle to the same dealer for servicing?

Many dealers insist, it's in the small print, that you return for habitation checks to comply with the guarantee conditions.

The base vehicle can be serviced at any FIAT (or whatever) official dealer.

as blongs says it pays to buy as local as you can .try and get a local dealer to match the price of the one that is miles away.warantee is nearly always by the supplying dealer .

i have bought two new vans both local 30 and 45 miles away and lost count of number of times had to go back .my last dealer will give me a loan car if they want to keep the van for over a day .they ask you to be there for 8 am give you a free breakfast read of paper and noon van ready .

Thanks for the replies, a lot to take in, glad I asked the question as the dealer is over 100 miles away. Looks like I have a choiceI. Either get it in writing that I can get any work done under warranty by a leading dealership closer to home or buy closer to home.

We have just paid nearly £500 to buy three extra years warranty on our three year old motorhome.I know it appears to be a lot but we now have piece of mind for the next few years and if we decide to sell our motorhome the warranty is transferable. A good selling point maybe.
