We are considering selling our old, reliable and loved campervan and buying a second hand Fiat Ducato - either Medium or Small wheel base and have it converted by a Company into a Campervan. We know the layout we want but wonder if anyone can reccomend a reliable Company that can do the conversion. Any information or advice would be most welcome.
Loads of companies advertise in the back of MMM magazine. We used Leisuredrive & have been very impressed. Hillside Leisure, CMC, Jerba, Bilbo's, East Neuk & NuVenture are all worth a look.
Thanks Mark. Its difficult to decide which Company to go with!! Will do a little bit more research on the internet I think, but will have a look at Leisuredrive. Thank you.
I've had two vans made for me. One was by Bilbos and I forget who did the other. Eventually I started building my own. It's not as difficult as it seems providing you have reasonable DIY skills
MMM had a special supplement last July detailing all the bespoke converters - 75 listed! I don't know if they do it every year but it might be worth looking out for this year's July issue ir perhaps seeing if you can get it as a back issue.
When ever there's an article about this the advice always seems to be look for a converter fairly local to you.
I had a Ford Transit converted by Middlesex Motorcaravans. Good quality and very helpful. Had the van for eight years before getting something a little bigger. Be aware this isn't always the cheapest way to a new/newer van.
